Bangladesh is a country of natural beauty and vast treasure which has brought it the grand popularity worldwide. Many world famous people consider Bangladesh as a very nice country. Bangladesh is located in south Asia surrounded by India in its three sides and the Bay of Bengal is to the south.

Bangladesh had to fight for freedom. After a sanguinary fight against Pakistan it achieved its freedom in 1971.The national name of Bangladesh is "Peoples Republic of Bangladesh". The mother language of Bangladesh is Bengali. But there are some tribal languages too.

Bangladesh is a small populous country. It has 1, 47,570 square km with a dense population of nearly 14 crore. The density of population of Bangladesh is 953 per square km.

It has 6 divisions, 64 districts, 482 upazilas, 599 thanas and 6 city corporations.

Most of the people of Bangladesh are Muslims. Besides Hindus, Christians and Buddhists also live in Bangladesh with harmony.
The chief occupation of the people is agriculture. The rest are doctors, engineers, teachers, businessman, service holder's etc. People of all communities live here with peace.

There are some common customs and traditions that people follow, such as Pahela Baishakh, 21st February (International Mothers Language Day), Independence day, Victory day etc.

Its climate is hot and humid and the land is plain and fertile. So every year plenty of crops, fruits, flowers are grown here, like-rice, tea, jute, wheat, mangoes, jack-fruits, pine apples, coconuts, orange, banana, rose, lili, lotus, chameli, marigold, beli, togor etc.
Bangladesh is a land of river. The Padma, the Meghna and the Jamuna are the main rivers of our country.

Bangladesh has many tourist spots. The cox's bazaar sea-beach is the biggest sea-beach in the world. Kuakata, Jaflong, Sundarbans, Moinamoti, Mohasthan Garh, Basu Bihar, Buddist Bihar, Sonargaon, Commilla BARD, Garo Pahar, Madhap Kundu spots etc. always attract the tourists of both home and abroad.
